Plastic Extrusion Supervisor Mid -Shift

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Plastic Extrusion Supervisor to lead our extrusion manufacturing operations. The candidate considered for this role will train on Day Shift 7am-3pm then will be moved to a Mid-Shift position 3pm-11pm. This role involves overseeing the production of plastic extrusions, ensuring quality standards are met, and maintaining efficient workflow within the extrusion department. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with plastics extrusion processes, and leadership capabilities to manage a dynamic team. Duties Supervise daily plastic extrusion operations, ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining high-quality standards. Coordinate with maintenance teams to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues related to extruders, press brake machines, CNC lathes, and other fabrication tools. Implement and monitor lean manufacturing practices to optimize workflow, reduce waste, and improve efficiency. Oversee materials handling processes, including the use of forklifts and hand tools, to ensure safe and efficient movement of raw materials and finished products. Train and mentor team members on proper machine operation, safety protocols, and quality assurance procedures. Qualifications Proven experience in plastics extrusion manufacturing or related fields such as plastics blow molding or injection molding. Strong mechanical knowledge 1-2 years of Manufacturing Management Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and warehouse experience is highly desirable. Ability to operate hand tools safely and efficiently in a manufacturing environment. Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and process adjustments. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to supervise a team effectively while fostering a safety-conscious work environment. Familiarity with materials handling equipment such as forklifts is preferred. Strong organizational skills combined with attention to detail for documentation and process adherence.
