The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all production operations within the central kitchen and central bakery. This role leads production planning, staff management, food safety compliance, quality assurance, budgeting, and operational efficiency to ensure products are produced safely, consistently, and cost-effectively. The Production Manager will drive continuous improvement while supporting company growth and maintaining regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:
Direct all aspects of production operations in the central kitchen and central bakery. Plan, organize, and oversee daily food manufacturing activities. Lead production teams to meet safety, quality, productivity, and cost goals. Hire, train, coach, evaluate, and develop Team Members across multiple departments. Promote accountability and maintain a positive, team-oriented culture. Monitor staffing levels and production schedules to ensure operational efficiency. Enforce company policies, GMPs, safety procedures, and food safety standards. Identify operational challenges and implement effective solutions. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in quality, efficiency, and waste reduction. Collaborate with leadership on strategic planning and business growth opportunities. Perform other duties assigned by management.
Additional Duties:
Strong knowledge of HACCP principles, GMPs, sanitation, and food safety programs. Broad understanding of food manufacturing equipment, processes, and production systems. Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and team development skills. Ability to analyze production metrics, financial reports, budgets, and P&L statements. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and lead effectively. Adaptable and open to change in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Strong commitment to quality, safety, and operational excellence.
Requirements:
Food manufacturing management experience preferred. Previous supervisory or production leadership experience required. Experience with FDA, HACCP, and food safety regulatory requirements required. Experience in bakery, kitchen, or prepared foods manufacturing preferred. Knowledge of production planning, inventory management, and process improvement preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift throughout the workday. Ability to work in varying temperatures including warehouses, coolers, and freezers. Occasional lifting of materials and products as required.
