Production Supervisor 1st shift

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Plans work, make assignments and trains new employees. Supervises, hires, retains, reviews and disciplines employees consistent with company policies and procedures, and in compliance with government laws and regulations. Coordinates workflow to balance quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to meet manufacturing and delivery deadlines. Manages the manufacturing activities and follows established procedures and approved processes to assure product quality. Works to continuously improve in all areas. Performs accident investigations when necessary. Practices good housekeeping and safety habits, supports and follows company policies and procedures, and performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Good written & verbal communication skills to, understand, educate, and respond to employees, and management personnel. Ability to think ahead and plan and prepare action plans to achieve results. Ability to lead people to achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, cost and employee relations. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to facilitate problem resolution, positive attitudes, and relationships. Self-motivated with the ability to recommend policies and strategies; and to independently plan, organize and execute work as needed to accomplish objectives. Good quality orientation with attention to detail, administrative details with ability to organize, produce, retrieve, and distribute documents with a minimum of errors. Sound and accurate judgment and make timely decisions. Must have a thorough understanding of current company policies and procedures, and federal, state and local employment laws and requirements.

EDUCATION/TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Preferred Some college or training in related field. Three to five years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment. Minimum Requirements High school diploma (or GED) and at least two years of experience of production supervision experience.
