This role involves overseeing daily operations on the fabrication floor, ensuring that all work meets safety standards, quality specifications, and project deadlines. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in construction site environments, welding techniques, and mechanical fabrication processes. As a Fabrication Supervisor, you will play a key role in coordinating activities, supervising skilled tradespeople, and maintaining efficient workflows to support our commitment to excellence. Key responsibilities include managing fabrication activities such as sheet metal work, pipe threading, plasma cutting, and assembly; ensuring adherence to blueprint schematics and ASME codes; and supervising the use of power tools, hand tools, and machinery including press brake machines and plasma cutters. You will also oversee rigging operations, crane movements, and forklift operations to facilitate smooth material handling. Your leadership will ensure that all fabrication tasks comply with safety regulations and quality standards while fostering a productive work environment. Responsibilities Supervise daily fabrication operations on-site or in the workshop, coordinating teams engaged in welding, assembly, and machining tasks. Ensure all work aligns with detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings through precise reading and interpretation. Oversee welding processes including
MIG, TIG, FCAW
(Flux-Cored Arc Welding), welding techniques, ensuring compliance with ASME standards. Manage the use of various tools such as calipers, micrometers, hand tools, power tools, and press brake machines for accurate fabrication. Coordinate rigging activities involving cranes and forklifts to safely move heavy materials and equipment. Monitor quality control by inspecting fabricated components using calipers, micrometers, and schematics to meet project specifications. Enforce safety protocols related to construction site activities, welding operations, and machinery use. Support team training on mechanical knowledge areas such as pipe threading, ductwork installation, soldering, plasma cutting, and machining. Collaborate with project managers to meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship. Maintain documentation related to fabrication processes, inspections, and compliance with industry codes. Experience Proven experience in construction site environments with a strong background in metal fabrication supervision. Extensive knowledge of welding techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), welding methods. Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and technical drawings. Hands-on experience operating fabrication equipment such as plasma cutters, press brake machines, and machining tools. Ability to utilize calipers, micrometers, hand tools, power tools effectively for precise measurements. Strong understanding of ASME codes & standards applicable to manufacturing and construction projects. Knowledge of rigging procedures involving cranes and forklifts for safe handling of materials. Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations involved in fabrication tasks. Mechanical aptitude with understanding of ductwork installation, pipe threading techniques, soldering processes. Prior leadership experience supervising teams engaged in assembly or manufacturing environments.
