We're hiring high performers as proven as our products. Join us. We are currently hiring a Senior Leader for our Mill Products Department in our Albany Operations manufacturing plant. This is a day shift position and reports to the Manager of Operations. The Senior Leader is responsible for coordinating Mill Products operations to produce quality products in a safe, environmentally sensitive, and efficient manner. The Senior Leader will lead, motivate, train, and supervise Front Line Leaders and support operations employees to improve all aspects of operations through the use of Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing concepts and tools and through positive collaboration with other departments across both Albany, Oregon plant sites. Primary Responsibilities Provide and foster a safe work environment. Coordinate department hazard abatement projects. Support core safety programs, training of new/transferred employees, and refresher training in applicable safety programs. Establish/reinforce housekeeping standards and conduct department 5S initiatives. Complete safety incident investigations and
IMS CAPS
in a timely manner. Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations and reporting requirements. Oversee the day-to-day monitoring of department operations to ensure environmental compliance. Produce product that is on-time and on-spec. Troubleshoot day-to-day operations to meet production and quality targets. Coordinate and schedule maintenance work and monitor work order back-log. Maintain adequate inventory of required process supplies. Support department cost reduction initiatives. Manage day-to-day operations to minimize cost. Support and initiate cost reduction projects. Monitor and manage department overtime requirements. Continuously improve all aspects of department operation. Apply leadership skills and Lean Manufacturing principles to guide and train subordinates in continuous improvement practices. Support and initiate continuous improvement projects. Create and revise documented department standards and work instructions. Review and approve time in Kronos. #LI-DG1
Requirements:
Basic Qualifications A Bachelor's Degree preferred At least 5 years of formal supervisory experience in a manufacturing, production or heavy industrial environment. Preferences, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of and experience in adapting Lean Manufacturing principles and techniques to the production environment. Demonstrated leadership, initiative, discipline, and drive for continuous improvement in an industrial production environment. Considerable knowledge of equipment capabilities, processes, procedures, and management associated with a production department. Proven ability to work well in a team environment, excellent people skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, and effective analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent computer skills and proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point) and Intranet applications. Experience with Oracle Process Management (OPM) and Discoverer. Salary Range:
$80,000 to $100,000/annually +
