Description:
Oregon Corrections Enterprises (OCE) is seeking a full-time Wax Production Supervisor located at Coffee Creek Correction Facility in Wilsonville, Oregon. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for the safe manufacture of company products which may represent a broad diversity of manufacturing processes. Responsible for satisfying all quality and productivity requirements in the most cost-effective manner by supervising multiple functions and shifts of the production team. This must be achieved while following and enforcing all safety, quality, 6s and process requirements. The supervisor will be directly involved with hiring, training, discipline, and performance reviews for adults in custody (AICs). This position offers a competitive compensation package including employer paid health, vision, dental, paid time off, and retirement through the Oregon Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), and 11 paid holidays per year.
Desired Knowledge and Skills:
Responsible to safely manufacture a quality product while meeting customer specifications and delivery commitments Ensure all safety requirements including the Cardinal Rules of Safety are followed at all times by every AIC Ensure that standard operating procedures and engineering procedures are current, accurate and followed at all times Provide supervision and coaching to all AICs to meet or exceed daily product metrics and goals Control quality, delivery, cost of production, work in process levels, and monitor production thru-put Maintain thorough knowledge of all production processes and materials Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations and priorities. Strong oral and written communication skills. Highly organized, self-motivated individual who can work effectively in a collaborative team environment. Strategic vision for new and future technology to support manufacturing and operational excellence. Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma Certification. Prefer background and experience with 6S implementation and management. Proven ability to work hands-on with the team to achieve objectives.
Working Conditions:
May be required to work some late and unusual hours, including some weekends Requires willingness to travel in or out of state, including some overnight trips Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time Ability to climb stairs without assistive aids Travel throughout the institution(s) will be required on a regular basis
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or related Engineering field and one (1) year of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting OR Three (3) years of industrial supervisory experience in operations in a manufacturing setting.
