Job Description

2nd Shift Supervisor Overview The Production Supervisor is responsible for assisting in overseeing entire power production process on the production floor. This supervisor will assist in overseeing a team of full-time and temporary associates providing coaching, support, and direction to meet processing deadlines for our customers. The Production Supervisor works closely with Sales/Customer Service, Manufacturing Manager, Quality Department, Distribution Manager, and Production Manager to ensure an efficient, smooth and error free flow of material and orders through the production process. The position always requires the individual to be safety conscious and to comply with all environmental, health and safety (E.H.S) procedures. Successful candidates must be able to enforce company policies, procedures, and help establish work instructions to meet quality and productivity expectations; communicate and cross train associates; and ensure a clean and organized working environment. Responsibilities Coach, develop and support associates - focusing on safety, quality, and individual/team training and development Create a production environment/culture that has a strong focus on customer satisfaction Seek innovative ways to drive process improvement with a focus on lean manufacturing techniques Collaborate and communicate directly with Customer Service to ensure open dialogue around product lead time and customer orders Collaborate with Lead Maintenance Technician to ensure required PM's are completed on all equipment Ensure compliance with all environmental, health and safety (E.H.S.) procedures Ensure a clean and organized work area using the 5-S technique Model safety consciousness and require it of associates Skills High school diploma or GED Demonstrated leadership experience in a manufacturing setting creating a positive, professional, team environment Demonstrated interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills when interacting with fellow employees, customers and vendors. Ability to read and interpret routine and some complex instructions and instruct others on completion of task Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations Organized and ability to problem solve in an industrial environment Ability to operate material movement and packaging equipment
