Thermal Solutions Thermal Solutions Products provides high efficiency condensing boilers, near condensing boilers and hot water heaters. We believe your application and specific job requirements should drive product selection. One technology does not suit all installations. We are seeking a Production Supervisor to join our team! Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in manufacture of parts or products with a focus on safety, quality conformance and efficiency standards. Position takes supervision direction from the Plant Manager. This is a full-time position located in Lancaster; PA. Hours are Monday-Friday 5:30AM-2:45PM with occasional Saturdays as business demands. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Directly supervise employees in a union environment, according to company policies and procedures. Participates in interviewing, hiring, firing and training employees. Planning, assigning, and directing work. Appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems. Ensures all departmental operations are performed in accordance with the established safety, quality, environmental and administrative guidelines/policies. Participates in safety audits and reporting. Engage daily with employees to ensure Safety, Quality, Delivery & Value results are achieved. Coaches and mentor employees. Monitors production and shop floor as needed. Captures data & information resulting from daily engagements. Computes amount of stock and supplies required for operations, based on production schedules. Works closely with Production control to ensure proper inventory levels and address shop floor parts shortages. Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met. Directs workers with all hand tools, equipment and assembly processes and procedures. Assists in training employees with all facets of the job. Recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of products. Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew. Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems. Maintains time and production records. Review shop work order completion and accuracy, making corrections as needed. Responsibilities may include project support & management in operational areas. Enters purchase req. for tools and supplies as needed. Works closely with QC department/ supervisor with all potential and current shop floor quality matters. Fills in for QC supervisor as needed. Opens and closes the building as needed in accordance with work shifts. Secondary Responsibilities Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders, and assigns duties. Confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards. Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability
Qualifications/Requirements:
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with hand and power tools One year of supervisory experience preferred
