Job Description

Position Summary The Group Leader - CNC Lathe is a hands-on supervisory role. A primary responsibility is the operation of CNC lathes within the department, combined with the direct supervision of all departmental employees. The supervisory duties include training, performance appraisal, and coaching. The Group Leader is also critical for overseeing production by scheduling jobs within the lathe area, tracking customer work, ensuring safety compliance, and managing departmental consumables and tooling. Benefits For Full Time Employees Competitive pay with annual wage evaluations Continuous performance feedback Profit sharing program 401(k) including up to a 4% match Health, dental and vision insurance Minimum 3 weeks of PTO 10 paid holidays per year Essential Functions Directly supervise all employees in your assigned department Responsibilities include operating CNC lathes, training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining Participate in the annual review process by keeping notes on employee performance and training needs throughout the period Issue jobs to qualified personnel and take an active role in scheduling, completing work on time and the effective use of machines Work with all Group Leads within the organization to ensure all customer deliverables are met. Monitor employees for compliance to company safety policies, use of tools, and personal protective equipment Update Shop Orders in Epicor when needed to ensure all projects are routed correctly Perform root cause analysis to eliminate problems Addressing direct report complaints and resolving problems and keeping employees informed about company policy or changes to policy Maintain neat and orderly work areas Assure that preventive maintenance tasks are completed according to schedule Oversee and order all consumables used in daily production Assist in the process of identifying, specifying, procuring, and implementing new machines/equipment in the department Additional Duties As assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Skilled at writing routine reports and correspondence Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions Proficient in Blueprint Reading Proficient with GD&T Proficient with Haas and Mazak CNC Machines Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations Ability to enforce all safety procedures. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Journeyman Machinist or equivalent combination of education and experience 5 - 10 years of CNC lathe experience 2 - 3 years supervisor experience Good candidates should have some prior vocational/ technical training and skills Work Conditions / Physical Requirements Work is generally performed in a climate-controlled environment May be required to be in one place for extended periods of time Will be required to work with other employees frequently May be required to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds What You'll Love About Us Here at Kiski Precision we have built our business around providing the ultimate customer experience.
