Job Description

Production Supervisor Location:
La Vergne, TN (Onsite Monday - Friday)
Position Overview:
We're partnering with an established manufacturing company in the industrial equipment space looking for a Production Supervisor who wants to stay close to the work — not manage from a distance. This role is equal parts hands-on troubleshooting, team development, and cross-functional communication: you'll be diagnosing electrical issues on the floor, training technicians on assembly procedures and safety standards, and keeping engineering and company leadership informed through regular project status reporting. If you're a strong electrical technician who's ready to lead, or a supervisor who still wants their hands in the technical work, this is the right seat.
Responsibilities:
Lead, coach, and develop a team of electrical technicians and assemblers Conduct training on assembly procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards Assign work, monitor performance, and support individual development for team members Participate in hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations Serve as the primary liaison between electrical assembly and design engineering — translating engineering changes and communicating production realities back to the design team Partner with engineers to resolve assembly challenges and improve manufacturability Support prototype builds and new product launches Drive quality compliance through inspection procedures and process discipline Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to reduce waste and improve product reliability Lead or support root cause analysis and corrective actions for assembly or electrical issues Maintain accurate production records and documentation
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in electrical assembly or industrial manufacturing Previous supervisory or team lead experience preferred Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings Hands-on knowledge of electrical components, control panels, and low-voltage systems Familiarity with manufacturing safety standards and quality systems (e.g., IPC, ISO) Clear communicator who can work effectively across production and engineering teams Proficient with Microsoft Office and standard manufacturing documentation systems
Bonus:
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles or formal continuous improvement methodology (Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma)
Why This Role Stands Out:
Real cross-functional influence — you're not siloed on the floor; you're in the room when engineering decisions get made A team culture that genuinely values collaboration and leaves egos at the door Hands-on technical work stays part of the job — this isn't a purely administrative supervisor role Opportunity to shape how the team is built, trained, and developed as the company grows Direct involvement in prototype builds and product improvements — your work has a short path to production impact Stable, established company with a clear commitment to manufacturing quality
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
Benefits:
401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Health savings account Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Application Question(s): Do you have experience troubleshooting conveyors or related material handling equipment?
Work Location:
In person
