Job Description

Production Supervisor
  • PackagingPosition OverviewWe are seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor for our packaging operations to lead a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The supervisor will be responsible for meeting daily production targets while maintaining product quality, ensuring safety and compliance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role focuses on optimizing packaging processes through effective people leadership, Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, and strong collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise and coordinate day-to-day packaging floor activities to meet production schedules, quality standards, and customer requirements.

Lead, train, and develop a team of packaging operators; conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and manage staffing and shift coverage.

Monitor production metrics (OEE, throughput, downtime) and implement corrective actions to achieve targets and reduce waste.

Ensure packaging processes comply with safety, quality, and regulatory standards; enforce GMP and company policies.

Drive continuous improvement projects using Lean principles and Six Sigma tools to improve efficiency, reduce defects, and lower costs.

Coordinate maintenance and changeover activities to minimize downtime and support reliable equipment performance.

Work closely with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Maintenance to resolve production issues and implement process improvements.

Maintain accurate production records, shift reports, and KPIs; communicate performance and improvement plans to management.

Support new product introductions and packaging line validations, including training and documentation updates.

QualificationsBachelors degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or equivalent experience preferred.3+ years of supervisory experience in packaging or manufacturing operations in a fast-paced production environment.

Demonstrated knowledge of packaging processes, materials, and equipment.

Hands-on experience with Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and Six Sigma methodologies (Green/Black Belt a plus).Strong leadership and team development skills, with the ability to motivate and coach operators.

Proven problem-solving skills, data-driven decision-making, and experience using production and quality metrics (OEE, SPC).Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present to stakeholders.

Working knowledge of safety and quality systems (GMP, ISO, HACCP depending on industry) and commitment to maintaining a safe workplace.
