With over 60 years of experience, AMS has grown from a small refrigeration contractor into a multi-discipline, multi-market MEP contractor with more than 1,000 employees. Located out of our beautiful Nashville, TN facility and reporting to and collaborating with the Director of Piping Fabrication, the local 572 Fab Shop Superintendent will oversee daily shop operations while promoting a safety-first culture.
Responsibilities:
Promote a safety-first culture Oversee daily shop operations Supervise foreman, quality control and loading operations Collaborate with Director of Fabrication to maintain fabrication schedules Manage shop production schedules to meet deadlines Review and prioritize fabrication for optimal shop production and loading Order fabrication material Procure shop consumables to maintain uninterrupted operations Monitor productivity and adjust manpower as needed Schedule and coordinate outbound deliveries of completed fabrication Prioritize shipments based on project urgency Coordinate trailer availability Communicate delays, risks, or changes proactively Resolve conflict and maintain morale in a union environment Schedule Preventative maintenance Maintain certifications and training for qualified manpower Responsible for securing and locking the building at the end of each workday, including ensuring all doors, gates, equipment, and designated areas are properly closed and secured.
Qualifications:
Member of UA Local 572 in good standing. Completion of OSHA 30-hour training. Understanding of quality requirements. Available for occasional travel.
