Taylor Farms Texas Job Description/Role/Responsibilities Production Supervisor Job Duties and Responsibilities Will work under direct supervision of the Production Manager and have ability to work well with others. Will be trained in and must follow HACCP, GMP and Safety guidelines. Will train employees in all facets of their jobs, including production operations, paperwork, GMP, HACCP and Safety Procedures. Will conduct Safety Meetings and tool box meetings with employees. PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) will be issued as needed and must be worn at all times. Must work with employees at giving them a level of ownership in the processes they perform. Must be able to evaluate, resolve, and have ability to escalate problems as they arise. Will direct the work of others and effectively coordinate efforts with other departments. Will oversee the proper operation and setup of processing equipment. Will oversee daily equipment pre-op and product changeover inspections. Must work to maintain and verify production performance levels and eliminate downtime. Work with the Maintenance Department to see that all equipment is properly maintained and coordinate for repairs when needed. Will work closely with the production scheduler in coordinating daily production runs and material staging. Responsible for requisitioning products from the Receiving Department in advance of production requirements. Will be responsible to provide any information needed for the production line in the event the Team Leader is unavailable. Must understand the quality programs and procedures i.e. HOLD procedures, GMPs, SANITATION in food plant, Company policy. Monitor employee's adherence to GMP's throughout the facility. Monitor employees are following company safety initiatives (i.e. PPE's, safety rules, etc.). Monitor integrity of HACCP ( Food Safety ) plans. Perform other reasonable job-related duties as requested. Ensure that all SQF, HACCP, Food Safety, GMP, Food Quality and Employee Safety rules and programs are followed. Education/Experience High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred Must have 1 to 2 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Language Skills•Must be able to read and write clearly in English; bi-lingual a plus. Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Mathematical Skills•Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, and decimals. Reasoning Ability•
Intermediate Skills:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with and resolve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, stand, walk and sit. Must be able to pass all pre-employment screens (including drug, background and criminal checks). Equipment/Software Used Microsoft, Word, Excel and Outlook a plus. Electric Pallet Jacks Train in the safe operation and correct function of all production equipment. Work Environment Full time position Must be willing to work in refrigerated warehouse environment•Cold/Wet 38°F Must be able to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends as scheduled or needed. Must be able to be on your feet for long periods of time. Must work in a professional and courteous manor with subordinates and peers.
