Our new Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas facility has a new and exciting opportunity for a Team Leadto join our operations team. This role will be responsible for the daily execution on the production floor, leading and coaching shift-level operators, conducting supervision rounds (ASTs) and ensuring that safety, quality and production goals are met. The ideal candidate will have excellent lead skills, positive and energetic with a proven track record of leading a production team. The Team Lead will cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence, supporting best practices across departments while ensuring a collaborative, inclusive and safe work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Accountable for shift execution and leadership
- assign tasks based on production plans and staffing levels and monitoring performance metrics (units/hour, takt time, first-pass yield)
- Lead and conduct start-of-shift meetings daily to communicate goals and challenges.
- Perform regular Active Supervision Tours (ASTs) throughout the shift and engaging with operators to identify issues and challenges to provide real-time support, documenting observations and escalating recurring issues.
- Coach teams and support cross-training
- maintaining and updating flexibility matrix
- Effectively address minor employee relations issues and escalate concerns to the Supervisor
- Monitor and ensure in-process quality to specifications
- Conduct regular 5S audits and correct issue promptly
- Maintain a safe working environment through regular compliance inspections and meetings, promoting a safe work culture by motivating safe behaviors and leading by example
- Report shifts progress and issues in end-of-shift summaries.
- Support integration of QA feedback into the daily workflow
- Champion continuous improvement
- Engage with all departments, and people and stakeholders across the organisation professionally
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years work experience in Lead role, with proven leadership capabilities
- Experience within a manufacturing environment preferred
- electrical manufacturing experience an asset
- Experience in project management and process improvement role considered an asset
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Working knowledge of OSHA legislation
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing
- 5S and continuous improvement methodologies an asset
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in using production and enterprise software, and reporting tools, and MS Office
- Bilingual is an asset Other requirements:
