Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Forward-thinking Engineering Manager to lead the day-to-day activities of Mechanical, Electrical, and Industrial Engineers to achieve company goals and objectives. An ideal candidate will understand metal fabrication as it relates to the Semiconductor industry.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
: Reviews, understands, interprets, and communicates corporate vision, mission, strategies, and goals to departmental personnel. Responsible for directing the activities of multiple engineering groups that are required to support production and assembly departments. Builds a strong sense of teamwork and purpose within the department. Establishes robust working relationships with other departments. Communicates the status of requirements and changes established in management, staff, and customer meetings that affect the appropriate personnel or departments within the organization. Ensures departmental compliance with all corporate policies and ISO procedures. Reviews, monitors, and provides input for improvement towards overall company ISO compliance. Manages time and attendance records in accordance with company policy. Responsible for the development of equipment and processes to aid in manufacturing. Uses and records, performance reviews, training sessions, mentoring opportunities, and corporate Warning Procedures to achieve maximum effectiveness from departmental personnel. Ensures appropriate resources (work instructions, software, hardware, materials, etc.) are available for departmental personnel to perform their jobs well. Maintains open and frequent communications with internal customers to ensure smooth flow of work through the department. Participates in staff meetings, all employee meetings, production meetings and other meetings to promote good communication throughout the company. Minimizes wastes in materials, manpower, equipment, and other resources. Provides technical expertise to departmental personnel, production personnel, and quality personnel as needed. EDUCATION and/orEXPERIENCE
- Requires a bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering; 5 to 7 years of related experience; or a combination of both education and experience.
- Proven experience as an effective manager handling diverse personalities.
- Must be capable of reading and interpreting mechanical drawings.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills are required.
- Must possess advanced skills in a Windows environment and have a high level of proficiency in applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
CRITICAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Requires the knowledge of applied metallurgy applicable to precision metal manufacturing.
- Requires knowledge of intermediate mathematics, including geometry and trigonometry, normally acquired by a high school education or equivalent.
- Requires basic knowledge of CAD/CAM manufacturing and manufacturing application software.
