Job Description

PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

Purpose:
As a leader you will ensure that production processes deliver at a maximum quality and profitable manner.
Responsibilities:
Direct and assign work schedules, assignments, tasks, and duties Oversee activities of production and operating employees under the direction of the Manager Develop daily production schedule in accordance with weekly sales commitments. Develop short- to mid-term strategies to meet business objectives. Execute decisions based on business conditions in congruence with corporate vision Gather and analyze information from work sites to identify root causes in resolving business issues Investigate issues on the floor by completing a root cause analysis and make a recommendation for improvement Monitor results and processes to proactively maximize production and eliminate waste Prepare departmental reports and present them to Manager and/or executive management Complete necessary documentation, such as status changes, time-off requests, and performance evaluations Work with Human Resources Manager to identify and interview potential employees for job positions Interpret work orders, specifications, and company policies and procedures for employees Collaborate with team members to identify areas of growth interest Assist Manager in developing and implementing standard work instructions Ensure all team members have required PPE and equipment to perform tasks. Report any incident (injury, illness, near miss), or safety hazard to immediate supervisor and EHS team member. Properly wear, care, clean, maintain, store, and inspect PPE as required. Only perform tasks that you are properly equipped and trained to perform. Take responsibility for your personal wellbeing and that of others Actively participate in EHS training and investigations. Hold team members accountable for successes and failures in following EHS expectations Lead by example while encompassing all aspects of safety, work environment, and leadership.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in a leadership role within production department Must be willing to cross-train Must have proficient oral and written communication skills Has experience overseeing between 20+ people Has a strong understanding of planning, scheduling, and inventory systems Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Experience working in automotive industry is preferred Knowledge of Lean or TPS practices is preferred Mig welding management experience is a plus.
