In the performance of this function, he or she is responsible to protect and promote the interests and values of the Company in all matters and to take actions as required to satisfy responsibilities. The Manufacturing Superintendent brings specialized knowledge and experience in executing projects for his or her specialty area. Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Operations & Production Management Define, enforce, and optimize production rates to ensure safe and efficient operations. Monitor and evaluate production performance; provide regular progress reports to Production Engineers. Apply knowledge of processes, production methods, and operating practices to improve plant productivity and reliability. Oversee quality performance and recommend modifications to production or quality standards within equipment limitations. Assist Operators with starting up, operating, and shutting down plant systems and utilities as required. Construction, Projects & Commissioning Monitor the completion of tank installations, new construction, and reactor installations to ensure longterm operational success. Review equipment requirements in collaboration with Project Managers, Operations Managers, and Engineering Managers. Create commissioning, startup, and training procedures for new construction and new equipment. Execute successful startups and closeout of assigned projects. Examine drawings and specifications to identify design deficiencies, impractical details, or potential code violations. Utilities & Equipment Oversight Inspect utilities associated with construction and operations and make maintenance decisions as necessary. Monitor and control plant utilities including chillers, boilers, pumps, fin fans, hot oil systems, and associated equipment. Work directly with employees to identify, troubleshoot, and implement corrective actions for machinery and equipment issues. Safety, Compliance & Procedures Participate in the implementation and enforcement of safety operating procedures. Participate in daily Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) activities and procedure installations to ensure proper execution and compliance. Ensure all operations comply with company standards, regulatory requirements, and safe work practices. Continuous Improvement & Collaboration Implement actions to measure, optimize, and improve overall area performance. Identify and propose continuous improvement opportunities across all units. Assist and collaborate with other departments—including Blending, Production, Maintenance, Construction, Engineering, and Technical—to improve efficiency and operational effectiveness. Participate in the development of new products, processes, and operating methods. Leadership, Training & Communication Ensure Operators have clear work instructions, guidelines, and access to appropriate training. Perform and facilitate onthejob training and coaching for employees as required. Regularly organize work activities, shift coordination, and information meetings. Attend weekly Construction and Maintenance meetings to ensure crossfunctional alignment and compliance. Knowledge, Skills and Work Experience Bachelor's degree preferred 10 years' experience required in chemical toll manufacturing or similar environment with managerial experience.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong planning and excellent organization skills. Resultsoriented Driven Versatile Ability to deal well with ambiguity. Proficient in working with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook Solid basic Math skills Ability to work with and build relationships with different functional groups. Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills are required. Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills. Must be able to explain proposals, reports, and findings to the organization. Strong leadership with demonstrated skills and ability to coach and develop others. Knowledge of PSM and safety procedures for handling hazardous chemicals Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to use their hands to handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. The team member frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch. The team member is occasionally required to sit. The team member must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
