Production Supervisor

• Job Summary
• Responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of production operations. Responsible for overseeing and managing production shift employees and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and quantity standards.
• Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
• + Oversees production operations on the assigned shift.

+ Prepares work schedules to ensure efficient operations. + Maintains knowledge of processes and equipment. + Ensures that products are identified, weighed, and warehoused correctly. + Troubleshoots issues that arise. + Works collectively with scheduling, purchasing, shipping, maintenance, and customer service to ensure a cost-effective product delivered on-time. + Works with supervisor to drive plant metrics scorecards while maintaining appropriate headcount, efficiency, spending, and budget adherence. + Establishes measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. + Ensures that employees comply with applicable safety regulations, policies, and procedures.

• + Experience provides solutions. + Ensures that work is performed consistently with company policies and procedures. + Leads a group or team of support, craft, or lower level professional associates.
• Work Environment
• + Typically located in a comfortable indoor area.

There may be regular exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors, such as dust, fumes or odors, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights. + Most of the time is spent sitting in the same position or standing/walking and/or there is some requirement to lift or handle material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds). + Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

• Education and Experience
• + Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 5+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.
