Forbes Candies Inc. is a Virginia Beach manufacturer, distributor and retailer of tasty confections including our famous salt water taffy, chocolates, and many other homemade confections. We manufacture over 100 different confections, many of which are our original recipes that date back to when we started in 1930. In addition to a wide selection of our own treats, our Virginia Beach and Outer Banks retail stores also carry a trending candies, gummies, souvenir gifts, and clothing lines, while focusing on bringing out the nostalgic kid in every customer.

OVERVIEW

Oversees, directs, and coordinates all activities of the department and staff personnel. Plans and schedules production day. Maintains production, quality, food and safety standards set forth by Forbes Candies. Follows and implements Forbes Candies policies and procedures. Plans, coordinates, and leads projects. Effectively communicates production status, department needs, delays, mechanical issues, etc. with supervisor. This is a very "hands on" detail oriented position consisting of an average 45 hour work week.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES

Oversee, direct, plan, and coordinate all activities of the kitchen department and staff personnel. Maintain production, quality, food and safety standards set forth by Forbes Candies Inc. Adhere to and uphold all Forbes Candies Inc. policies and procedures. Coach, train, critique, and review new, existing, and temporary personnel. Safely and effectively operate necessary equipment. Maintain diligent records of lot information, food and safety records, operational records, equipment records, etc… All other duties as may be assigned by management.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Associate must be able to lift 25 - 50 pounds on a continuous basis Associate must be able to repetitively and continuously lift, grasp, push, pull, bend, stretch, stoop, and twist. Associate must be able to maintain the production standards set forth by Forbes Candies Inc. Associate must be able to stand/walk 100% of the scheduled work day. Associate must be able to follow and interact appropriately with coworkers, management, vendors, and guests. Associate must be willing to work in unfavorable conditions such as hot and cold temperatures. Associate must continuously demonstrate their ability to handle themselves in a safe and courtious manner and safely oeperate necessary equipment. Associate must be able to work overtime and weekends as required by Forbes Candies Inc.
