Job Description

We are looking for the right Supervisor, for our manufacturing floor, on 2nd Shift that can be a teacher, a leader, a production guru and the ability to continue and always striving to improve the work culture for our employees. Responsible for the overall product production of the assigned shift to include product Quality, Safety, direction, coordination, training and evaluation of team members. Job Duties Lead and direct the shift, personnel and participate in team activities to maintain and continuously improve departmental and shift performance goals. Responsible for keeping the workstations supplied with necessary parts for productions Responsible for product quality, product safety and has the authority to stop production to correct quality and/or product safety issues Maintain compliance with established policies, procedures, and quality standards Complete the production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, and resolving problems Responsible to fulfill all product production based on the schedule Provide manufacturing information through production performance records and data Investigate, evaluate, and take appropriate action to maintain and improve production efficiencies, resource usage within the established standards and guidelines Train, evaluate, and take appropriate action to maintain a safe work environment within the established standards and guidelines Ensure effective onboarding of new hires to position and training for job function is completed per requirements Keep a positive and energetic attitude when representing the company to employees, customers, and visitors Manage emergency situations including weather related, fire, evacuations, and industrial accidents. Assess the abilities of personnel and resources and allocate them to the areas of their expertise Maintain a neat, clean, safe production floor Assist with proper inventory control Prepare management summary reports and brief manager on daily activities Work with HR to handle disciplinary actions with employees and to assist to resolve situations Responsible for the shift's hours and payroll Must attend all off site and onsite training sessions as assigned Works closely with the Plant Manager, Plant Superintendent, Scheduler, and other Shift Supervisors Qualifications - Education & Experience High School Diploma or G.E.D. is required Associate's degree in business administration or manufacturing is preferred 5+ years Manufacturing and leadership (Supervisory or Management) Experience preferred Plastics Injection Molding Experience Preferred Technical Background (e.g. Service, Automation, Tooling, Processing,) in Plastics Injection Molding Manufacturing is preferred Forklift Certified (provided by WPI) Qualifications - Skills & Competencies Ability to multi-task at a fast pace to manage the team and situations as they occur Ability to read and interpret computer documents such as safety rules, operation instructions, procedure manuals, B.O.M's, work instructions and appropriate ISO procedures. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence via a computer in a professional & proficient manner Must have essential computer functions such as: Microsoft Office Outlook, EXCEL, WORD, and have ability to efficiently navigate within IQMS. Proficient or ability to learn and use company power tools, printers, label machines, grinders, riveters, drills, sonic welders, box tape machines and a variety of Presses and Mold Injections Machines. Ability to use and read a variety of measuring tools such as calipers and scales. Strong written and verbal communication skills, must be able to read, write and speak English Ability to make good decisions and have a close attention to details Must have the ability to lift 10-70lbs repeatedly, ability to stack, maneuver objects, bend, stand or and climb up to 8-10 hrs within the workday.
