The Plant Foreman is a working leadership position responsible for overseeing a crew of hourly team members while supporting daily production operations. This role ensures safe and efficient plant operations, maintains compliance with company standards and safety requirements, and drives production performance through effective team leadership, communication, and operational oversight.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of production workers and equipment operators to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently Monitor work schedules and allocate labor resources to meet production goals without compromising quality Enforce safety regulations, company policies, and operational best practices Regularly inspect equipment, machinery, tools, and work areas to ensure safe operation and compliance Train new and existing team members on operational procedures and safety protocols Investigate and resolve production issues, including workflow bottlenecks and operational challenges Communicate production status, equipment conditions, and operational concerns to management Assist production teams as needed to support daily operations and production goals Perform general manual labor tasks, including cleaning, shoveling, loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials Provide leadership, coaching, and support to foster a productive and collaborative work environment An individual in this position must be able to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above. Education & Preferred Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred 4-6 years of related industry experience Knowledge of commonly used industry concepts, practices, and procedures preferred 1-2 years of leadership, lead, or supervisory experience preferred Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse workforce Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to prioritize tasks, solve problems, and manage production schedules effectively
Physical & Mental Demands:
Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and handling materials or equipment Occasional climbing, kneeling, crawling, and lifting or moving up to 25 pounds Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 100 pounds infrequently Ability to concentrate, follow detailed instructions, communicate effectively, and safely perform job duties May require operation of tools, equipment, or vehicles associated with the position
Work Environment:
Work in outdoor weather conditions, including extreme hot and cold temperatures Work near moving machinery and equipment Work in a noisy industrial environment Work alongside moving traffic on roads Indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions Exposure to moving machinery, electrical hazards, dust, dirt, fumes, and noisy environments Overtime may be required based on production and business needs
