Plant Superintendent About the Opportunity Our client, a leading manufacturer in the corrugated packaging industry, is seeking an experienced Plant Superintendent to oversee daily plant operations and drive performance across production, quality, safety, and team leadership. This role is a key partner to the Plant Manager and is critical to achieving operational excellence. Position Summary The Plant Superintendent is responsible for leading all aspects of plant operations, including production, maintenance coordination, quality control, shipping/receiving, and employee leadership. This role ensures the facility meets productivity goals while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities Operations & Production Leadership Oversee day-to-day production activities to meet output and efficiency targets Monitor machine and crew performance; implement improvements as needed Analyze downtime and productivity; develop weekly/monthly performance reports Ensure proper training programs and process control are in place Quality & Customer Engagement Investigate and resolve product quality issues using root cause analysis Partner with customers to address product performance concerns Collaborate with Sales and Customer Service on product specifications Safety & Compliance Enforce OSHA standards and lead safety initiatives across the facility Maintain compliance with regulatory and product quality standards Lead food/product safety programs (AIB or similar standards preferred) Leadership & Team Development Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management for plant personnel Support employee engagement and morale initiatives Handle disciplinary actions as needed and lead by example Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment Required Qualifications 7+ years of experience in the corrugated or packaging industry (required) High school diploma or equivalent (additional education preferred) Strong technical expertise in corrugator operations and product quality Demonstrated leadership experience in a manufacturing environment Excellent problem-solving and communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office for reporting and analysis Preferred Qualifications Experience across all aspects of corrugator operations, including maintenance and scheduling Strong mechanical aptitude and spatial reasoning skills Experience with regulatory and safety programs Work Environment 60% office / 40% plant floor Moderate physical demands Why Join High-impact leadership role within a growing packaging operation Opportunity to shape production performance and team culture Collaborative environment with direct influence on plant success
