Job Description

Summary:
The Assembly Supervisor will ensure that both Customer & Cruiser Yachts' quality requirements are understood and regulated throughout the application process. Driving improvement initiatives, in alignment with continual improvement tactics, while leading and coaching team members.
Main Responsibilities:
This is not an exhaustive list of duties or functions and may not necessarily comprise all the "essential functions" for purposes of the ADA.
  • Detail-oriented
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards
  • Ensure operation of equipment by calling for repairs, evaluating new equipment, and applying new techniques
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures
  • Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
  • Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees, developing personal growth opportunities
  • Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within the process and control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow • Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data, answering questions and responding to requests • Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending actions • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed • A change agent, sharing ideas and supporting • Improvement that drives impact in efficiency and financially • Drives high-standard practices for housekeeping • All other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Understands and maintains Cruiser's safety and housekeeping standards
  • Understands and maintains Cruiser's quality standards and applies proper procedures
  • Supervises, coaches, and manages processes
  • Supports process & continuous improvement initiatives
  • Understands Expenses
  • Should be familiar with the tools that are required for the job (for example: hand and power tools, Assembly Equipment, Metrology Equipment applicable to the industry
  • Production and Strategic Planning
  • Dealing with Complexity
  • Soft Skills / People Skills a must
  • Must be able to work at various plants based on need and ability to travel if necessary
  • Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
Physical Requirements:
(May be repetitive in nature)
  • Must be able to lift 60 pounds at times, and have the physical ability to meet strength and movement requirements for the position
  • Wear required PPE and work in a dusty environment
  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time, crawl, walk, carry, squat, kneel, bend or stoop, walk on uneven surfaces, climb, twist at the waist, and reach at or above or below the shoulders
  • Lifting (up to 60lbs) and push or pull (up to 60lbs)
  • Fine manipulation of one or both hands and be able to grasp with one or both hands
Education and Experience:
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment qualifications
  • Must be able to read at an 8th-grade level
  • On-the-job training
  • Leadership Schooling or Training a plus
  • Lean Manufacturing Training or Experience a plus
Working Environment:
  • 100% - Manufacturing environment; safety glasses required and other personal protective equipment where applicable
