Non-Exempt, Full Time, 2nd Shift, (4) 10 hour days Mon - Thurs
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise employees as assigned in the mills and lathes department, including day to day supervision, preparing performance reviews, training and participating in disciplinary action Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining quality standards Perform and verify unsupervised machine setups on CNC mills, lathes, and related equipment Read, interpret, and troubleshoot G-code and M-code programs as needed Support operators in setup, tooling changes, and process adjustments Monitor machine performance and make real-time adjustments to maintain efficiency Ensure compliance with safety policies, quality standards, and company procedures Train, mentor, and evaluate machining operators and setup personnel Troubleshoot machining issues, tooling problems, and program errorsPlan and oversee production in select areas of the Mills department as assigned Recommend tooling arrangements, fixtures, operation sequence, etc. Work with Operations Manager to plan, organize, train and develop workforce and to continuously improve the effectiveness of the machining departments in accomplishing Company goals Use a variety of precision measuring instruments May be required to periodically check in on other departments operating during second shift to ensure overall facility coordination, support operational needs, and maintain consistent adherence to safety, quality, and productivity standards across all areas. POSITION REQUIREMENTS
5 years of machining experience 1 to 2 years' experience as a Lead or Supervisor, required Strong ability to independently perform CNC machine setups (mills and/or lathes) Proficient in reading and interpreting G-code and M-code programs Solid understanding of machining principles, tooling, and fixture setup Ability to use standard office equipment. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs, i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Publisher. Ability to add, sub-tract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, feel or handle objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands or arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. Must be able to walk or stand on concrete for up to 4 hours at a time. Must be able to lift 50 pounds without assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception and the ability to focus.
