Position Summary:
The Production Supervisor for Busse/SJI will lead, coach, and motivate direct reports to ensure high quality products are produced safely and cost-effectively through maximizing operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
Major Responsibilities:
Ensure consistent implementation of policies.
Engage in the reduction and/or elimination of non-value added work throughout the organization
Establish and maintain a training schedule for all assembly associates
Develop procedures for improving process and maximizing resource utilization
Participate and lead root cause analysis projects
Develop standard operating procedures
Studies blueprints to establish logical assembly sequence, at times for multiple jobs
Performs spot inspections throughout assembly process to assure product is being assembled correctly the first time and that the job is on schedule according to established due dates
Conducts safety training for shop associates
Participate in management meetings to assist in planning and to make recommendations on matters related to manufacturing.
Implement sound lean manufacturing principles to improve quality and decrease cost
Complete performance reviews for all manufacturing associates
Provide timely feedback to direct reports to ensure they are meeting expectations
Report all work related injuries to human resources and lead the problem solving involving safety incidents
Work with Human Resources staff to recruit, interview, select, hire, and employ an appropriate number of employees
Lead employees to meet the organization's expectations for productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment.
Plan, evaluate, and improve the efficiency of business processes and procedures to enhance speed, quality, efficiency, and output.
Plan and allocate resources to effectively staff and accomplish the work to meet departmental productivity and quality goals
Ensure assemblies are assembled complete and accurate.
Coach and counsel employees towards improved performance
Assure employee compliance with safety and quality requirements
Maintain a safe and clean working environment
Responsible for ensuring that projects are shipped on-time and complete
Responsible for system debugging including debugging of electrical circuits
Travels to customer's site for service calls as needed.
Responsible for ensuring the "as built" set of prints are accurate and error free

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
Associate's Degree (two year college or technical school)
Preferred, Field of Study:
Manufacturing Technology or Welding and Fabrication
Three plus years of experience in assembly and/or Welding and Fabrication
Microsoft office

Frequent use of hands and fingers,
Frequently stand and walk.
Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment.
