Job Description

Exempt Description:
The Production Supervisor shall supervise and coordinate all production activities in accordance with the production schedule as set forth by customer demands.
Primary Responsibilities:
The following are included, but not restricted to, the responsibilities of the Production Supervisor. Coordinate production flow within each department to support on-time shipment performance goals. Enforce all safety related policies and procedures and assist Safety Committee and Human Resources with establishing or updating program. Work closely with production team to maintain Quality Control to ensure all products are produced in accordance with quality standards. Work closely with Director of Operations to ensure adequate inventory to meet production demands. Work closely with Human Resources to ensure adequate staffing. Instruct and train all operators on proper operation of equipment. Organize, monitor, and prioritize employee tasks to meet production goals. Provide timely feedback on performance metrics and schedule annual performance reviews. Enforce all policies on conduct as well as workmanship. Maintain an orderly and clean working environment. Manage all production schedules in accordance with customer forecasting/demands. Review production costs and product quality and modify production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operations. Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on progress, output, and shift summaries to senior management. Focus on continuous Improvement. Identify process bottlenecks, implement efficiency methodologies and reduce operational costs.
Qualifications:
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and inventory management systems. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Excellent organization, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Excellent problem-solving skills, and a strong work ethic. Ability to create and adhere to production processes. Ability to write reports legibly and accurately. Relevant training and certification in industrial production, engineering, or any related field. Two to four years' related experience in the manufacturing management field. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business reporting regarding production flow and individual employee performance. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from senior managers, clients, and customers when required.
