Role:
The Production Floor Manager plays a critical role in overseeing and coordinating all activities on the manufacturing floor to ensure efficient and safe production processes. This position is responsible for managing production schedules, monitoring workflow, and maintaining quality standards to meet company goals and customer expectations. The manager will lead a team of production workers, providing guidance, training, and support to optimize performance and foster a collaborative work environment. They will also be responsible for identifying and resolving operational issues, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Ultimately, the Production Floor Manager ensures that production targets are met on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher in manufacturing, engineering, or related field preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role. Strong understanding of production processes, quality control, and safety standards. Proven ability to manage teams and coordinate multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Management, or related discipline. Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies. Certification in safety management or production supervision. Familiarity with ERP systems and data analysis tools. Demonstrated success in implementing process improvements that increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Responsibilities:
Supervise daily production operations to ensure adherence to schedules and quality standards. Coordinate and communicate with cross-functional teams including maintenance, quality control, and supply chain to optimize production flow. Lead, train, and motivate production staff to achieve performance goals and maintain a safe working environment. Monitor equipment performance and production metrics, identifying areas for process improvements and implementing corrective actions. Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations and company policies.
