Shift Supervisor

Production Shift Supervisor Production shift supervisor position available in a corporate manufacturing environment. This is a stable full-time position. The selected candidate will be a part of our production department with the following functions: 1. Responsible to have shift change meeting with outgoing supervisor to obtain status of plant operations. 2. Ensure proper supply of raw materials for the entire shift or devise an alternative plan. 3. Determine workforce available daily and assign direct reports to various assignments depending on production requirements. 4. Follow production schedules and fulfill but avoid overrun of production orders. 5. Ensure standard cycle times and standard labor production rates. 6. Report and request a change any time the standard rates have changed or are not accurate. 7. Advice and plan for mold changes and maintenance. 8. Review efficiency reports and provide explanations for any significant reduction in efficiency. 9. Report machine/mold malfunction to maintenance and/or production manager using documented procedure. 10. Observe and maintain product and packaging quality (any defective or questionable product should be removed and the inspector or manager informed). 11. Perform employee evaluations and identify performance deficiencies and if a corrective or disciplinary action are needed, train, coach, and document until deficiency is corrected or removed. 12. Determine the work schedules of direct reports and request new employees from human resources to meet production requirements. 13. Ensure that all direct reports are properly trained, equipped with PPE, and following dress code prior to beginning work. 14. Responsible to conduct timely accident investigations on all work-related incidents and accidents. Report all incident and accidents to Human Resources and manager immediately. 15. Conduct monthly employee safety meetings and attend all safety, quality, or production meeting. 16. Responsible for housekeeping in the production area, work in a safe manner and abide by all the company's safety rules while assuring and monitoring that all direct reports do the same. 17. Other job assignments as directed by manager.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Maintain a Forklift certificate. Knowledge of hanger gathering and packing procedures. Proper lifting and palletizing techniques. Manufacturing processes, supervision and training skills. Basic Human Resource laws, company policies and procedures and their location. Location of OSHA regulations. Location of raw materials in the warehouse. LOTO procedures and location of operating and maintenance manual. Product and item knowledge, master item book use. Proper and safety operation of assembly machine, palletizer, pallet jack, taping machine, injection molding machine, and other machines used in production.
