The Opportunity:
The Demopolis Solid Bleached Sulfate (SBS) Paperboard mill operates 24 hours per day, 7 days a week to meet quality production standards. The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of duties, in such a manner that maintains safe working conditions, maximum production, quality standards and preservation of equipment capacity and investment capital. How you will impact
Smurfit WestRock:
Work as a team member of the machine, finishing, recovery or pulp crew to produce quality SBS paperboard. Perform all duties related to the overall function of the crew and comply with methods, procedures, techniques, safety rules and regulations which have been established. Understand the equipment operation to aid in problem-solving and optimization. Train on various jobs through ability and seniority. Be engaged in safety improvements and participate in meetings.
What you need to succeed:
Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalency diploma Must possess a solid history of employment; 2 years of manufacturing experience is preferred Must be able to work rotating shifts Must meet physical requirements: able to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise maneuver 50 pounds on a routine basis; be able to walk, stand, bend, kneel, reach, climb stairs, and twist throughout a shift Must be able to withstand prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures Possess strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Must be able to perform basic calculations Must have strong written and verbal communication skills What we offer: Corporate culture based on integrity, respect, accountability, and excellence Comprehensive training with numerous learning and development opportunities An attractive salary reflecting skills, competencies, and potential A career with a global packaging company where Sustainability, Safety and Inclusion are business drivers and foundational elements of the daily work.
