Fleming Trailers is seeking a dependable, hands-on General Shop Assistant to join our team in Glendale, AZ. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals with mechanical aptitude who enjoy working in a production environment and are interested in learning welding and fabrication skills over time. This position primarily supports experienced welders and fabricators through material preparation, assembly assistance, shop organization, and general production support while gaining exposure to MIG welding and fabrication processes over time. What You'll Do Support experienced welders and fabricators in a production environment Assist with material preparation including cutting, grinding, cleaning, and staging Assist with trailer and ramp assembly and general shop support tasks Learn basic welding techniques, shop practices, and safety procedures over time Operate hand tools and basic shop equipment safely Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Follow direction from supervisors and experienced team members Other duties may be assigned as business needs evolve What You Bring Strong work ethic and willingness to learn Mechanical aptitude and interest in shop or manufacturing work Ability to use basic hand tools Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team Ability to work in a physically active production environment Reliability, positive attitude, and attention to detail Willingness to learn welding and fabrication skills over time Willingness to be trained on forklifts and shop equipment Preferred Previous experience in a shop, warehouse, manufacturing, or production environment Our C.I.T.E.
