Job Description
General Description The Weekend Production Assistant supports the technical execution of weekend worship services at Desert Hills Lutheran Church. This role involves operating audio, visual, and presentation systems to ensure a smooth, distraction-free worship experience for both in-person and online attendees. Working closely with the Worship Team, the Production Assistant plays a key role in delivering high-quality sound, video, and slide presentations during services. Primary Responsibilities Operate audio console during rehearsals and services. Run slide presentations using software such as ProPresenter or PowerPoint. Assist with video switching or livestream support when needed. Perform basic sound checks with musicians and speakers. Follow service run sheets and cues for smooth transitions. Set up and tear down tech equipment as needed. Support midweek tech prep as needed (limited and flexible). Troubleshoot minor technical issues quickly and communicate major issues to the Technical Director. Schedule Typically includes Saturday rehearsals/services and Sunday morning services. Occasional additional hours for holiday services or special events. Schedule set weekly in coordination with the Technical Director. Qualifications Experience with audio mixing, presentation software (e.g., ProPresenter), or video switching preferred. Comfortable working with live events and adjusting on the fly. Ability to follow cues and work behind the scenes during worship. Dependable and punctual. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Willingness to learn and grow in technical skills. Commitment to the mission and worship life of Desert Hills Lutheran Church.
