Shear Operator NEXTAFF - Phoenix - 5.0 Phoenix, AZ Job Details Full-time From $17.50 an hour 12 hours ago Qualifications Press brake machine Forklift Manufacturing facility Materials handling Manufacturing Full Job Description Overview We are seeking a dedicated Shear Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating industrial shearing equipment to cut sheet metal and other materials with precision and efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to safety and quality standards. Responsibilities Proven experience operating shearing machines in a manufacturing or fabrication setting. Strong mechanical knowledge of machinery such as press brake machines, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, and plasma cutters. Proficiency in CNC programming and understanding of CNC laser cutting technology. Ability to read blueprints accurately and apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles. Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM), welding techniques, and fabrication processes. Skilled in the use of hand tools, tooling setup, and basic math for measurements and calculations. Knowledge of quality inspection procedures using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments. Experience with sheet metal fabrication including cutting, bending, assembly, and tooling management. Ability to operate forklifts, cranes, and other material handling equipment safely. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
