Non-Exempt Position Summary The Press Support role is essential to the efficiency and quality of the pressroom, providing timely assistance to Press Operators and ensuring presses remain stocked and operational. This position is responsible for preparing materials, maintaining press supplies, assisting in equipment operation, and performing other tasks to support production flow and quality standards.

Press Support:

Coordinate with Scheduler, Press Team Lead, and Lead Operator to prepare for upcoming jobs. Print and assemble job tickets in preparation for running the press. Make and mount plates accurately according to job requirements. Prepare jobs according to the production schedule, ensuring ink, stock, dies, and other materials are delivered to the appropriate press. Deliver and return miscellaneous press supplies such as rags, ink, stock, dies, tape, flags, solvents, and cleaners as needed. Clean carts and components being returned after press runs and assist Press Operators with cleanup tasks to minimize downtime. Assist Press Operators as needed to support efficient press operation. Stock presses daily with essential supplies, including tape, flags, solvents, cleaners, and cores. Cover lunches and breaks for Press Operators to keep production running without interruption. Maintain an accurate inventory of press supplies and communicate needs to the Supervisor. Act as a backup for the Slitter Operator when needed. Cross train and serve as back up to the fulfillment team. Other Duties as Assigned For SAFFORD Location only (at this time):

LPSP Area Support:

Check in flatbed dies, organize file envelopes, and mark them with the appropriate numbers for filing.

Core Preparation:

Interpret documents, including electronic files, product IDs, and job tickets, to prepare for production. Validate labels to ensure they meet customer specifications and job ticket requirements. Set up and operate the Core Cutter, troubleshooting and diagnosing issues as needed. Verify all core specifications and generate label IDs/core markers for finished products. Conduct weekly inventory of cores and ensure areas remain stocked. Operate a forklift safely and efficiently.

Qualifications Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in a manufacturing or pressroom environment is a plus. Forklift certification or ability to become certified is required. Physical Demands Ability to lift and carry moderate weights, such as rolls of label materials or inks, up to 60 pounds, on occasion. Precise use of hands and fingers for handling small components in order to operate machinery Clear vision, including close up vision and identification of colors, to make sure presses are set up properly. Standing, bending, and moving for extended periods in a production environment. Comfortable working in varying temperatures and with pressroom materials such as inks and solvents. Ability to verbally communicate and collaborate with co-workers and supervisors. Work Environment Manufacturing environment with exposure to moving machinery, noise, and production materials. Safety equipment, including PPE, is required in designated areas.
