Job description This is a full time position that is physically demanding, in a food facility with strict safety policies. The production teams work a 4-day week, with a set schedule of 6am to 4pm.

Maya Tea is a Tucson, AZ owned and operated manufacturer of loose-leaf teas, sachet tea bags, iced teas, and liquid concentrates. Our products are sold across North America in cafes, gift shops, and restaurants of all shapes and sizes. Maya Tea is looking for a focused, reliable, and diligent applicant to join the production team at our Tucson production facility. ABOUT THE JOB
This position focuses on all things production, which means you will have in part in creating every product Maya offers. This includes our liquid concentrates, mixing teas in large batches and processing ingredients in our industrial machines all while maintaining a high level of food safety. Attention to detail is key here! We have a strenuous onboarding process to ensure all new hires are able to meet the stringent safety and efficiency standards that Maya requires. DAILY PRIMARY TASKS WOULD BE
Oversee the upkeep, sanitation and maintenance of our production spaces Perform packaging duties such as evenly and quickly applying labels, casing bottles, sealing cases, and stacking pallets, among others Portion tea blends, printing labels, kitting, and assemblage Interact with our industrial machines including our bottling equipment (operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, cleaning, dis- and re-assembling the units, etc) Mix recipes in 30-50lb batches (precisely following recipes to the gram, collecting bulk ingredients from the warehouse, using proper care when handling liquid flavors, operating mixers, and keeping your workspace clean) Maintain the warehouse space (basic cleaning, tidying, rotating stock, organizing tools, washing dishes, unloading and loading trucks, constructing and building pallets, etc.) Package items (using band sealers, counting, portioning, labeling, etc) Adhere to all food safety handling protocols - including state, federal and Maya tea co. policies Handle food products in a fast, effective manner while using PPE, and safe handling best practices Work as part of a fast-paced, hard-working team that is passionate about creating quality, healthful products The ideal candidate will have the following attributes: Exhibit a strong desire to be punctual and ready to work immediately upon arrival Ability to work in warm kitchen-like conditions Ability to stand 90% of their shift while performing repetitive movements/tasks Ability to work as a part of a team in a fast-paced environment Ability to lift, move and/or push 50 pounds on regular basis several times a day Ability to sit, stand, bend, crouch, and climb stairs Excellent hand-eye coordination and ability to keep a quick pace while working An excellent sense of time management and the desire to work quickly. Experience in packaging, labeling, production, or manufacturing Experience in warehouse operations including the use of tools such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, tape guns, safety blades, and others Food handling experience.
