Shipyard Laborer

Description Operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, measuring, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. Clean and prepare sites, clean up rubble and debris, and remove materials for work. Assist other trade workers as needed. Laborers load and unload equipment, and carry materials to skilled workers. Removes paint and scale from ships' metal surfaces, using hand or powered wire brushes. Conveys materials and tools to work site. Loads vehicles, using hand truck or dolly. Washes trucks and other vehicles. Cleans ships, piers, drydocks, and other working areas, using broom and water hose. Opens shipping crates, using hammer and pinch bar. previous shipyard experience (at least 2-4 months) Must be able to work Monday - Saturday (10 hour days, 60 hours a week) Capable of performing general laborer duties Experience Level Entry Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Alameda, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
