Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Amada Press Brake Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining press brake machines to accurately bend sheet metal components according to technical specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of fabrication processes, blueprint reading, and precision measurement to ensure high-quality production standards are met. The Press Brake Operator will play a vital part in the fabrication of custom metal parts and assemblies, supporting various manufacturing projects with efficiency and safety. Duties
- Set up and operate press brake machines Amada Press Brakes an Accurpress to bend sheet metal with precision according to detailed blueprints and specifications
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) to determine proper tooling and machine settings
- Adjust machine parameters for different materials and thicknesses to achieve desired angles and dimensions
- Conduct quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify accuracy of bent parts
- Perform routine maintenance on press brake equipment, including tooling changes and troubleshooting mechanical issues
- Maintain a clean and organized work area adhering to safety standards
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize fabrication processes and improve efficiency
- Assist in fabricating components using related machinery such as CNC laser cutting, CNC milling machines, CNC lathe, plasma cutting, electrical discharge machining, stamping presses, or welding as needed Experience
- Proven experience 2yrs operating press brake machines in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming, CNC laser cutting, CNC milling machines, CNC lathe operations preferred
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, GD&T principles, and the use of precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and other quality inspection instruments
- Mechanical knowledge related to tooling setup, machining processes, sheet metal fabrication, and assembly techniques
- Experience with hand tools, tooling management, crane operation for material handling, and basic math skills necessary for precise measurements
- Knowledge of welding techniques and electrical discharge machining is a plus but not required
