Job Overview The Manufacturing Floater plays a vital role in supporting daily production operations by providing cross-functional assistance across multiple manufacturing departments. This position is responsible for helping ensure the efficient, safe, and timely completion of customer orders while maintaining established quality and productivity standards. The Manufacturing Floater must be adaptable and versatile, with the ability to learn and operate various production equipment, perform a wide range of manufacturing tasks, and provide coverage where operational needs are greatest. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to workplace safety, and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members to support production goals and overall business objectives. Duties 1. Responsible for making sure machine(s) are kept in good working condition. 2. Must familiarize themselves with all color charts, fabric colors and die size codes. 3. Work on all orders by ship method and due date. 4. Inspect finished emblems to verify quality standards, including design accuracy, stitching, and overall appearance. 5. Examine merrow borders and embroidery details to ensure compliance with product specifications and quality requirements. 6. Remove excess threads and trim loose material using clippers or scissors to achieve a clean, finished product. 7. Package completed emblems into plastic bags according to established packaging requirements, including quantities of 25 pieces per bag. 8. Maintain accuracy in counting, packaging, and preparing finished products for the next stage of production or shipment. 9. Review barcoded work orders and verify production requirements prior to processing. 10. Assign work orders to the appropriate machine based on job specifications and production requirements. 11. Prepare, set up, and adjust machine settings to ensure efficient and accurate production. 12. Start, stop, and monitor machine operations to maintain productivity, quality, and safety standards. 13. Continuously monitor machine performance and identify stitching irregularities or product defects during production. 14. Detect, troubleshoot, and report machine malfunctions to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules. 15. Ensure completed work meets quality standards and customer specifications before advancing to the next production stage. 16. Operate heat press machine and press inkjet transfer sheets onto merrowed blanks or fabric, must have the ability to operate two presses at once and maintain production level. 17. Assist with maintaining warehouse cleanliness. 18. Continuously seeks opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and effectiveness in all assigned activities. 19. Performs duties in compliance with Federal, state and local laws and regulations and adheres to all Penn Emblem policies and safety procedures. 20. Perform other work-related projects as assigned by the leads, Shift Supervisor and Plant Manager. 21. Running Hand Special Machines 22. Pull blanks from stock for hand special orders 23. Laminating 24. Hand cutting blanks/PG emblem orders 25. Burning (use heat gun to burn excessive threads) Experience 1. Self-driven, self-motivated, results-oriented, positive attitude, and confident. 2. Ability to multi-task in an effective, efficient and organized manner. 3. Flexible and possesses the ability to adapt to a changing environment and a flexible schedule. 4. Ability to perform in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. 5. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment and supporting overall team goals. 6. Basic knowledge Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Excel, Word and Outlook, etc.). 7. Ability to lift products up to 20 pounds and up to 40 pounds with assistance. 8. Skilled in developing positive relationships and promoting a collaborative, team-oriented work environment.
