Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Hardware Designer with experience in additive manufacturing (AM) technologies to support the development and implementation of advanced AM processes and solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical design skills, proficiency in CAD software (NX), and experience working with complex assemblies.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and support additive manufacturing (AM) processes including 3D printing, rapid prototyping (RP), direct digital manufacturing (DDM), and layered fabrication. Determine interdependencies between materials, processes, and design elements. Provide input for design optimization related to AM. Collaborate across teams to define AM material and process requirements. Apply digital design principles using CAD and solid modeling software. Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to support manufacturing. Investigate and resolve process-related issues, such as porosity and defects in AM parts. Develop and implement test methods, inspection processes, and failure analyses. Create qualitative tools or software to enhance AM equipment reliability. Research and evaluate emerging AM technologies. Author and maintain AM work instructions. Provide training and support to AM machinists and technicians.
