Job Summary:
Responsible for manufacturing Vector's labeling and detection products using routine and advanced procedures and documenting all work in production batch records using established good documentation practices. The Manufacturing Associate II operates and maintains a variety of laboratory equipment. Must have knowledge of laboratory safety and practices as well as experience with techniques such as spectrophotometry, protein labeling and conjugation, and chromatography. The Manufacturing Associate II follows established procedures and works under general supervision on assigned tasks. This position reports to the Production Manager for Bulk Formulation. The ideal candidate is eager and ready to enter a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with some experience in protein purification at a large manufacturing scale.
Responsibilities:
  • Manufactures reagents according to
ISO 9001
requirements and established procedures.
  • Documents all manufacturing steps as they are performed using good documentation practices.
  • Collects and executes critical KPI's.
  • Performs column purification/chromatography, protein conjugations, and kit reagent preparation using manual and automated procedures.
  • Maintains, calibrates, and validates production equipment using established protocols.
  • Guides, trains, and assists other associates under direction of Dept Supervisor.
  • Drafts and revises manufacturing and ISO related documents as needed.
  • Supports non-conforming material investigation as directed.
  • Supports implementation of new equipment and/or new manufacturing processes as directed.
  • Assists with bottling/kit packing and QC as needed.
  • Works with and disposes hazardous materials following specified safety precautions.
  • Maintains inventory control of raw materials and supplies using proper labeling and
  • computerized systems.
  • Maintains a clean, orderly and safe laboratory environment following health and safety guidelines.
  • Collaborates within team and department to follow best practices and meet department goals.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned within Operations value stream. Job Qualifications (Experience, Education, Knowledge, and Skills):
  • BS or BA degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Life Sciences or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1 - 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. 1-2 years of experience with column chromatography and/or protein purification required.
  • Experience with operating under quality system required, understanding of
ISO 9001
2015 requirements and procedures preferred.
  • Ability to work with animal and human derived materials.
  • Ability to troubleshoot routine and some non-routine procedures and techniques.
  • Able to clearly communicate ideas, reasoning, and conclusions across functional departments both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to approach problems methodically through detailed investigation and data analysis, ensuring that findings are evidence-based and solutions are both practical and sustainable. Recognized for thoroughness in documentation, follow-up, and verification of results.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and time constraints while maintaining a high level of work quality.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
