Job Description

Job Title:
Trimmer Job Description The Trimmer prepares, masks, and finishes customer products according to detailed specifications in a safe and efficient manner. This role applies and removes masking and plugging materials, follows blueprints and work orders, and supports production goals while maintaining high quality standards and a clean, organized work area. Responsibilities Apply and remove all masking and plugging materials to customer products in a safe and productive manner according to customer requirements and specifications. Perform masking methods based on customer product specifications, ensuring accurate coverage and protection of designated areas. Prepare raw materials for masking, including hand wiping using chemical products such as MEK, alcohol, and different types of paint, in accordance with safety guidelines. Reference and interpret blueprints to accurately determine masking requirements and ensure all specifications on the print are met. Help monitor inventory levels for masking materials, chemicals, and supplies, and request purchases to ensure production requirements are met on time. Assist in inspecting products for quality and conformity, and promptly notify the team leader or supervisor of any non-conformances or defects. Record masking details and process information on job tickets and work orders accurately and completely. Accurately complete all required forms and documentation and adhere to schedule due dates to support on-time delivery. Work safely at all times and comply with all safety regulations, especially when handling hazardous materials and chemicals. Maintain equipment, tools, and the work area in a clean, organized, and well-maintained condition. Work with a positive, cooperative attitude and report questions, issues, or concerns to the team lead or supervisor in a timely manner. Perform additional duties as assigned by management to support production and operational needs. Essential Skills At least 2 years of experience working in a production or manufacturing environment is preferred. Ability to read and interpret blueprints to determine masking and finishing requirements. Ability to safely handle and use chemical products such as MEK, alcohol, and various types of paint. Ability to perform paint preparation and finishing tasks with attention to detail and quality. Experience using basic power tools and hand tools in a production or finishing environment. Ability to read and write to complete required forms, job tickets, and work orders accurately. Effective communication skills to interact with supervisors and co-workers and to report issues or non-conformances. Ability to follow safety procedures and regulations when working with hazardous materials and chemicals. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain organized work documentation and workspaces. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required. Experience with metal finishing, metal assembly, or metal stud-related work is beneficial. Experience in paint preparation, glazing, or finishing processes is an advantage. Familiarity with production environments that include multiple stages such as masking, plating, and inspection is helpful. Comfort working with power tools and equipment used in finishing and assembly operations. Any relevant technical certifications, licenses, or registrations are preferred but not required. Work Environment The role is based in a large, multi-stage production facility that includes areas for masking, nickel plating, hanging, chemical tanks, and a cleanroom dedicated to final inspection. You will work around various chemicals and finishing materials and use tools and equipment appropriate for masking, finishing, and assembly tasks. The environment is production-focused, with an emphasis on safety, cleanliness, and organization across all stages of the process. You will collaborate closely with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and high-quality output throughout the facility. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Redwood City, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
