Summary of Functions The Production Lead ensures that manufacturing operations are carried out efficiently and in strict compliance with quality standards. This role provides leadership to production team members and coordinates activities such as machine operation, processing, packaging, and sorting. The Production Lead enforces all safety procedures and safeguards product quality at every stage of production. Duties Operate, troubleshoot, and perform minor adjustments on production machinery in a machine‑controlled environment. Work with management to plan and control daily production activities. Enforce safety rules, report hazards, and model safe behavior at all times. Ensure all employees wear required personal protective equipment and follow instructions. Verify production schedules, review production reports, and track employee attendance for supervisor review. Inspect team members' work to ensure compliance with company quality standards. Ensure adherence to procedures, work instructions, and quality standards; perform process verifications (visual inspections, critical checks); and support investigations of rework and customer complaints. Train new and existing employees; apply strong problem‑solving skills to address production challenges. Delegate tasks effectively to team members. Demonstrate strong time‑management skills and maintain a proactive approach to daily operations. Communicate clearly and professionally in both oral and written form. Exhibit strong leadership and motivational skills to guide individuals with diverse abilities and personalities.
Education / Experience
Ability to read and write. Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel). Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers. Knowledge of GMP policies preferred. Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred. Ability to work overtime as needed. Availability to work any shift, including weekends. Organizational Relationships Reports directly to the Production Supervisor. This position has no direct reports. In the absence of the Production Lead, the Production Supervisor will assume responsibilities.
