Key responsibilities include using hand and power tools to repair damaged components, which may involve welding and the use of cutting torches. The position also entails relocating racking and adjusting storage configurations as needed. Operators may use equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks to facilitate repairs and moves. Success in this role requires strong mechanical aptitude, physical strength, and a steadfast commitment to safety. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety. Proficiency in welding (MIG and Arc) and using various power and hand tools, including drills, grinders, and torches. The ability to work from blueprints or sketches to complete repairs and fabrication. Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose the cause of rack issues. The ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50-75 lbs.) and perform physical tasks that involve bending, stooping, kneeling, and standing for long periods. Able to work in cold environments. A strong understanding of and adherence to all safety rules and regulations related to the job. Excellent attention to detail to ensure precise installation and repairs. 3-5 Years of previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting is often required or preferred. Certifications such as a valid driver's license, welding certifications, or a forklift operator's license may be required depending on the role. Inspect and diagnose damage to storage racks, and related components. Repair and restore damaged racking, which may involve welding, drilling, and using a cutting torch on steel. Replace broken parts such as bolts, fasteners, cables, and guards. Fabricate new tools, simple jigs, and fixtures as needed. Perform preventive maintenance (PM) to ensure the long-term functionality of rack systems. Keep detailed records of all repair and maintenance work performed. Maintain a safe and organized work environment and operate machinery like forklifts jacks, etc. Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
