R&D Specialist (Food Manufacturing)

$24-$30/hour (DOE)

Schedule:

Monday-Friday (hours may vary); weekends as needed based on production Postion Summary Initiative Foods is seeking a detail-oriented and innovative R&D Specialist to support product development, formulation, and continuous improvement of our food products. This role works closely with Production, QA, and Operations to bring new products from concept to commercialization while ensuring compliance with USDA and food safety standards. Key Responsibilities Assist in development and reformulation of food products (purees, blends, etc.) Conduct product trials, validations, and plant scale-ups Document formulations, processes, and test results accurately Collaborate with QA/QC to ensure food safety and regulatory compliance Support shelf-life studies and product testing Maintain R&D records, specs, and documentation Troubleshoot production issues related to formulation or process Participate in continuous improvement and cost optimization initiatives Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Chemistry, or related field (preferred) 1-3 years of experience in food manufacturing or R&D (preferred) Knowledge of

USDA/FDA

regulations , GMPs, and food safety standards Strong attention to detail and documentation skills Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus Work Environment Manufacturing/production setting (USDA-inspected facility) Exposure to varying temperatures, equipment, and production lines Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods Why Join Initiative Foods?
