Automotive Painter's Helper / Paint Prepper Auto World Collision Center Valencia, CA Job Details Full-time $20 - $25 an hour 18 hours ago Benefits Paid time off Qualifications Detailing Auto painting Power tools Mechanical knowledge Auto body repair Full Job Description Automotive Painter's Helper AutoWorld Collision Center Position Summary AutoWorld Collision Center is seeking a dependable and motivated Automotive Painter's Helper to assist our paint department in preparing vehicles for refinishing and ensuring high-quality paint finishes. This position is ideal for someone looking to build a career in automotive collision repair and refinishing while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare vehicles and parts for paint by sanding, masking, cleaning, and priming surfaces. Assist painters with mixing paint materials and maintaining paint inventory. Remove and reinstall minor trim, moldings, and accessories as directed. Maintain cleanliness and organization of paint booths, mixing rooms, and work areas. Move vehicles safely throughout the facility. Inspect vehicles for imperfections and ensure surfaces are properly prepared before painting. Follow manufacturer specifications and shop procedures for refinishing work. Assist with buffing, polishing, and final detailing after paint application. Properly handle and dispose of hazardous materials according to safety regulations. Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition. Support team members as needed to meet production and quality goals. Qualifications Previous automotive, body shop, or paint preparation experience preferred but not required. Basic knowledge of automotive repair and refinishing processes is a plus. Ability to use hand tools, sanders, and other shop equipment safely. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods. Skills & Attributes Strong work ethic and reliability. Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
