This position serves as a working leader who directs production employees, provides training and support, monitors workflow, and assists with production activities as needed. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and capable of leading by example while maintaining a safe, productive, and positive work environment. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProduction Leadership Coordinate daily production activities and assign work to team members. Monitor workflow and ensure jobs are completed according to schedule. Communicate production priorities and deadlines to employees. Identify and resolve production bottlenecks and workflow issues. Ensure production targets and delivery commitments are achieved. Team Supervision Lead, train, and mentor production employees. Monitor employee attendance, productivity, and performance. Assist with onboarding and training of new hires. Promote accountability and adherence to company policies. Provide feedback to management regarding employee performance and development. Quality Assurance Ensure products meet company quality standards and customer specifications. Perform quality inspections throughout the production process. Identify defects, rework requirements, and process improvements. Assist in implementing corrective actions to improve quality and efficiency. Safety and Housekeeping Promote a safe work environment and enforce safety procedures. Ensure employees use proper tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment. Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient production area. Report safety concerns and incidents to management. Production Support Assist with production activities as needed, including assembly, fabrication, CNC operations, packaging, or shipping. Help troubleshoot equipment and production issues. Coordinate with purchasing, inventory, and shipping personnel to maintain workflow. Assist in inventory counts and material management. Continuous Improvement Recommend process improvements to increase productivity and reduce waste. Assist in developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs). Support implementation of lean manufacturing and efficiency initiatives. Track and communicate key production metrics. QualificationsRequired High school diploma or equivalent. 3+ years of manufacturing, production, assembly, or fabrication experience. Previous leadership, lead, or supervisory experience. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to read and interpret work orders, drawings, and production schedules. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and production tracking systems. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a manufacturing environment. Preferred Experience in CNC manufacturing, industrial sewing, carpentry, fabrication, or custom manufacturing. Forklift certification. Experience with ERP or inventory management systems. Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Success in this role will be measured by: On-time production completion Labor efficiency Product quality and defect rates Employee attendance and productivity Workplace safety performance Inventory accuracy Continuous improvement initiatives Compensation Hourly, Non-Exempt Position Overtime Eligible Competitive compensation based on experience Benefits package available
