We're looking for a hands-on Production Lead to own our build floor end to end — from raw component kitting through firmware loading, assembly, functional test, packaging, and carrier handoff. This is not a desk job. You'll be on the bench daily, building product yourself, while also setting up the workflow, training the people around you, and holding the line on quality. The ideal candidate is equal parts skilled technician, process builder, and team lead. You take pride in a clean, organized, repeatable production line, and you get satisfaction from making a process faster and tighter than you found it. What You'll Do Production & Build (hands-on) Kit electronic components for production runs — pull, count, verify, and stage parts against the BOM. Install and verify firmware on PCBAs. Perform board-level and product-level assembly, including box build. Run functional and system-level testing on completed units; identify, document, and triage failures. Build, package, and prepare final product for shipment, including assembling shipping boxes. Quality Control Conduct QC inspection on your own work and the team's output against documented standards. Catch and correct defects before they leave the floor; track failure modes and feed them back to engineering. Maintain build records and test logs for traceability. Supply Chain & Purchasing (light) Monitor component inventory and flag shortages before they stop the line. Support purchasing — sourcing parts, placing or requesting POs, and coordinating with suppliers on lead times and substitutions. Receive and inspect incoming materials. Workflow & Process Optimization Organize and sequence the full production workflow: kitting → firmware → assembly → box build → functional test → packaging → ship. Continuously improve throughput, yield, and consistency. Document SOPs and refine them as the operation scales. Set up and maintain an orderly, efficient, well-labeled work area. Shipping & Logistics Print shipping labels and prepare outbound shipments. Coordinate carrier (FedEx / UPS) pickups and drop-offs; ensure product ships on time. Team Leadership & Training Train new and existing team members on the entire production process, from kitting through shipping. Help hire for specific production roles — screen, interview, and onboard. Manage day-to-day floor assignments and hold the team accountable to quality and output targets. What You Bring Required Demonstrated hands-on experience across the full electronics production cycle: kitting, firmware loading, PCBA/box-build assembly, and functional/system test. Proven track record optimizing manufacturing processes and workflow (this is a must — be ready to give examples). Comfort with light supply chain / purchasing tasks and BOM-driven kitting. Experience running QC and reading/interpreting test results. Experience training others and leading a small production team. Familiarity with shipping logistics (label printing, FedEx/UPS coordination). Strong organizational discipline and the ability to work independently with minimal oversight. Nice to Have Soldering / rework proficiency (through-hole and SMT). Experience reading schematics and working directly with engineering on design-for-manufacturability feedback. Background in a startup or small-batch / high-mix manufacturing environment. Familiarity with inventory or ERP/MRP systems. Exposure to UL or other product compliance/certification processes. Who Thrives Here You're self-directed and take ownership — you see what needs to happen and make it happen without waiting to be told. You're meticulous about quality but pragmatic about getting product out the door. You like building systems and training people, not just doing the work yourself. And you're energized by an environment where you can shape the operation as it grows. Compensation Competitive, commensurate with experience.
