Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Assistant to to join our dynamic construction management team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support project execution, coordinate daily operations, and ensure the seamless progression of multiple construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in construction processes, management software, and technical skills, contributing significantly to project success and operational efficiency. Duties Essential Duties and Responsibilities Follow the instructions of the Section Leader. Follow the job schedule, directing any questions to the Section Leader, or if not available, another member of management. Responsible for assigned production area, including set-up, maintenance, repairs, and adjustments on bag machines. Assists in training in machine functions, ensuring compliance with safety procedures and good manufacturing practices (GMP). Maintains efficient bag machine operating speeds and minimizes waste. Makes minor repairs and adjustments to the machines within the scope of the Assistant Foreman's training. Immediately submit work orders to the maintenance department to ensure machines are fixed and maintained in a timely fashion. Reads work orders and compares samples of the machine against the specifications on the work order to ensure proper set-up. For repeat jobs, reviews the job during set-up and then signs off on the job jacket. Assists roll changers as needed. Checks bag quality for all quality control parameters stated on the quality control sheet at the beginning of the shift and every two hours during the shift. Checks include lips, punches, zippers, and seals.
  • Pulls at least one random sample every one to two hours from each wicket arm and checks against specifications. Take corrective action as needed.
  • Assists bag machine inspectors with their duties, including getting supplies and relieving them for breaks.
  • Checks production run targets posted on the machines.
  • Ensure 2 signatures are on the work order before running a job. Trains Operators, in the absence of an Assistant Foreman, that a second signature can be obtained from an experienced bag inspector. Other Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assists in other parts of the factory as needed.
  • Works overtime that is approved and required to meet department needs.
  • Performs Section Leader duties if they are not available.
  • Reports any food safety issues.
  • Responsible for complying with all GMP's.
  • Adheres to established Company procedures and policies, work schedule, attendance standards and is punctual to work and meetings.
  • Adheres to and improves safety standards.
  • Manages workstation and practices good housekeeping techniques.
  • Strives for continual improvement to quality.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as assigned.
Pay:
$22.00 - $23.23 per hour
