The operator ensures production, safety, quality, food safety, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards are met at all times. Essential Functions Production & Recycling Operations Support daily operations of assigned production and recycling areas to meet safety, quality, and throughput goals. Monitor recycling system performance and material flow to minimize downtime and maintain consistent throughput. Support startup, shutdown, and normal operating procedures of recycling equipment under standard operating guidelines. Perform minor troubleshooting and relief duties as required to support continuous operations. Quality, Food Safety & Documentation Perform continuous visual and physical inspections to identify non‑conforming materials or contamination risks. Accurately complete required production and quality documentation on an hourly or shift basis. Report quality defects, contamination concerns, or process deviations promptly to shift leadership. Adhere to rPlanet food safety standards, GMP requirements, and HACCP‑related prerequisite programs. Material Handling & System Monitoring Monitor key recycling system parameters and escalate abnormal conditions to maintenance or leadership as required. Support sorting activities by ensuring material quality standards are maintained. Assist with cleaning and upkeep of recycling equipment and conveyor systems to reduce downtime. Operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely when required. Equipment Care & Housekeeping Maintain general housekeeping in recycling, production, and surrounding areas. Identify equipment, safety, or operational issues and coordinate resolution with shift leadership. Support scheduled cleaning activities to maintain a clean and food‑safe facility. Safety & Team Support Make safety the number one priority and comply with all Niagara safety policies, OSHA regulations, PPE requirements, and lockout/tagout procedures. Participate in required safety and operational training. Support cross‑training and teamwork across production and recycling operations as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Ability to read, write, and perform basic math. Ability to work in a fast‑paced manufacturing or recycling environment. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical job duties throughout the shift. Preferred Qualifications Experience in manufacturing, production, or recycling operations. Familiarity with food safety, GMP, SQF, or HACCP principles. Forklift operation experience. Physical Demands & Work Environment Prolonged standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive motion. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Exposure to moving mechanical equipment, moderate to high noise levels, and varying environmental conditions.

Pay:

$21.00 per hour
