Job Description

Job Title:
General Production Worker Job Description This role involves working across multiple areas of a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing facility, performing a variety of production tasks and rotating through different stations on the production floor. You will follow written work instructions and standard operating procedures, use basic math and computer systems to track work, and support processes such as tumbling, CNC feeding, grinding, loading and running automated press machines or laser tubing. You may also work in a cleanroom environment, where attention to detail and adherence to strict procedures are essential. Responsibilities Follow written work instructions and standard operating procedures to complete production tasks accurately and safely. Use basic math skills to verify counts, measurements, and production data as required. Log in and out of jobs using bar code or QR code scanning, including signing into the computer system, selecting the correct job, and properly closing out tasks at the end of each assignment. Create and print labels through the computer and ERP system to ensure accurate product identification and traceability. Perform a variety of hands-on production tasks such as tumbling, CNC feeding, grinding, loading and running automated press machines, and operating laser tubing equipment. Rotate through different workstations on the production floor and cross-train in multiple tasks to support overall production needs. Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all facility and cleanroom protocols where applicable. Adhere to all safety guidelines, including the proper use of required personal protective equipment. Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members regarding job status, issues, and any concerns that may affect quality or productivity. Participate in training in both classroom and on-the-job settings, and apply feedback to continually improve performance. Follow attendance and communication expectations, including notifying appropriate contacts if you are unable to report to work. Support consistent quality and reliability in all tasks, understanding that the products manufactured are used in critical medical device applications. Essential Skills At least 1 year of industrial experience in environments such as warehouse, manufacturing, landscaping, trade school, automotive, or other hands-on industrial work. Ability to use computers to scan barcodes and QR codes, navigate basic computer systems, and work within an ERP system to log jobs and create labels. Comfort with performing repetitive, hands-on production tasks while maintaining focus and attention to detail. Ability to read, understand, and follow written work instructions and standard operating procedures. Basic math skills to perform simple calculations related to production tasks. Willingness to cross-train and work in different areas of the production floor as needed. Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment and communicate effectively with coworkers. Reliability and consistency in attendance and performance, especially during the initial training period. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with CNC operation is a plus. Experience with electric polishing is a plus. Previous exposure to medical device manufacturing or cleanroom environments is beneficial but not required. Openness to structured feedback and performance metrics to support ongoing development. Interest in long-term growth within a production or manufacturing environment. Why Work Here? Work Environment The work takes place in a standard manufacturing facility that is clean, well lit, and climate controlled. Safety glasses and hearing protection are provided and required in designated areas, but there is no need for steel-toe footwear or medical certifications. Some roles may involve working in a cleanroom, where you will wear standard cleanroom PPE such as smocks, hair nets, and beard nets; fuzzy clothing and bringing water into the cleanroom are not allowed, and all cleanroom PPE is provided. The dress code requires closed-toe shoes, jeans worn at the waist with no rips, and no shorts or tank tops; in the cleanroom, additional restrictions apply, including no perfume, jewelry, cosmetics, acrylic nails, or fake eyelashes. All positions complete a first-shift orientation for the first two days, with a typical schedule of Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for first shift and 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. for second shift, with some flexibility in training assignments. Employees receive two 10-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch, with access to an on-site cafeteria, designated smoking areas, and an open parking lot behind the building for employee parking. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Berlin, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.70/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
