E&I Process Control Specialist Fluor
  • Rand Whitney Containerboard Mill | Montville, CT $40
  • 45/hr DOE + full benefits Fluor is seeking an experienced E&I Process Control Specialist to support operations at the Rand Whitney Containerboard paper mill in Montville, CT.
This is a hands‑on role in a large, 24/7 manufacturing environment where strong troubleshooting skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety are essential. What You'll Do Support safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations in a 24/7 manufacturing facility Troubleshoot PLC logic, system interlocks, DCS, process computers, and control loops Perform on‑site operational checks, I/O verification, loop tuning, and control optimization Install, calibrate, maintain, and document work on pneumatic and electronic instrumentation Troubleshoot VFDs and work with low, medium, and high‑voltage electrical distribution systems Read and interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs, and control logic diagrams Use CMMS (Maximo preferred) to document work, track issues, and support reliability improvements Apply structured troubleshooting methods to identify root causes—not trial‑and‑error part swapping Collaborate with operations to resolve process upsets and improve system reliability Respond to call‑ins and work independently during off‑hours as needed What You Bring High school diploma or GED required 3+ years of experience in: PLC systems Process control Instrumentation Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving ability Solid understanding of electrical safety (LOTO, arc flash) Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Clear written and verbal communication skills Team‑oriented mindset and strong documentation habits Why Join Fluor We offer competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package, including: $40
